Panos Simou ● Chartered MCSI, FCMI
Head of Department
With over 40 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, Panos is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, and a Member of the Dutch Restructuring Association. He often jokes about when he first joined the industry, apparently the dinosaurs were still walking the earth. Alongside the many years he spent in client-facing roles and dealing in the markets as a stockbroker, Panos has also established and managed a number of free-standing financial services departments for a number of firms. His coal-face experience also includes two appointments as a Compliance Officer. His passion outside the ‘day job’ has always been motorcycling and he has covered close to 1,000,000 miles during his 30 years of riding in all weathers. During his biking days, he also spent considerable ‘evaluation time’ in most hospitals in the South of England, but somehow Panos has never let the ‘day job’ ball slip. These days he spends all his free time trawling through market news-flow, interrogating his Reuters terminal for valuation anomalies, reading through 500-page prospectuses and comprehensively looking under the bonnet of corporate bond issuers.
